Overview of Initial Assignment
Brickendon Consulting Ltd., is a leading global technology solutions provider that empowers businesses in the financial sector to achieve their goals through innovative and tailored solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect with expertise in Investment Banking and a specialization in Capital Markets to join our dynamic team. Leveraging your in-depth knowledge of capital markets, financial instruments, trading systems, and regulatory compliance, you will collaborate closely with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams to architect and implement cutting-edge solutions that drive business growth, efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Solution Design: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business needs and craft innovative, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that align with investment banking and capital markets requirements.
• Defining the detailed end-to-end solution design for products and features in a way that supports the execution of the HSBC technology strategy and roadmap, articulating and addressing associated architectural risks, issues, and technical debt
• Translating the requirements created by business analysts into the architecture for that solution, ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected Business Outcomes
• Ensuring the design of the solutions is cost-effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities
• Architecture Development: Create detailed architectural blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications that outline the structure, components, and interactions of the proposed solutions.
• Domain Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of investment banking and capital markets to provide subject matter expertise and guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in investment banking and capital markets, evaluating their applicability and potential impact on solution design.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, data scientists, project managers, and business analysts to ensure seamless integration and successful execution of projects.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, data privacy standards, and security protocols.
• Client Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering insights and recommendations to optimize their technology strategies in alignment with investment banking goals.
• Solution Presentations: Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations, workshops, and documentation.
Skills & Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience 8 Years as a Solutions Architect in the investment banking sector, specifically with a focus on capital markets.
• In-depth understanding of investment banking processes, capital markets instruments, trading workflows, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in designing solutions leveraging a variety of technologies, such as cloud computing, data analytics, microservices, APIs, and more.
• Strong knowledge of industry-standard architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and design patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, thinking critically, and adapting to rapidly changing environments.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CMT, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• Experience with fintech platforms, blockchain, and machine learning in investment banking is desirable.
