Engagement Consultant (New York)

We are looking for an engagement and sales consultant to work within our in our New York office to aid company growth and advise internal clients on recruitment best practice.

Duties and responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Advising management on recruitment best practice
  • Managing internal key stakeholders
  • Presenting Brickendon opportunities to perspective candidates via telephone and face-to-face
  • Screening candidates and compiling shortlists for internal interview
  • Lining up, interviewing and assessing prospective applicants for core practices
  • Negotiating rates and salaries
  • Maintaining internal databases, templates and systems
  • Delivering market intelligence and acting as an advisor with respect to client expectations versus the marketplace
  • Ensuring all parties understand total compensation, benefits and reward

Sales and Account Management:

  • Sales and Business Development – through prior relationships, corporate and personal networks and lead generation activities, build a sales pipeline and close sales opportunities to meet or exceed your agreed targets
  • Account Management – working as a business partner to our clients, ensure regular meetings and reviews to understand the clients’ needs
  • Bid Management and Pre-Sales – ownership of clients/accounts and related bid and pre-sales activity. Work with the sales and delivery teams to form the best solutions for the client
  • Commercial Management and Negotiation – take a lead role in negotiating commercial and managed-services agreements with new clients, ensuring that the solution is in line with our commercial framework
  • CRM Management and Administration – understand and follow the sales management process, ensuring best practice and that all sales activities are correctly documented in the CRM systems

The engagement/sales consultant will possess the following skills and experience:

Recruitment

  • Experience working within either a corporate or agency recruitment environment is essential and consultancy experience beneficial. Experience and knowledge of the banking industry is also essential
  • Experience in delivering one or more of the following skill sets to the banking and/or financial services industry: Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers or Testers
  • Must be able to demonstrate successful and creative use of social, professional, and internet networking sites to identify and source candidates
  • Effective internet sourcing skills, including Boolean search expertise and creative/innovative researching knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and an ability to prioritise deliverables
  • Strong commitment to internal client/candidate service (e.g. responsive to emails, phone calls, proactive in providing feedback and maintaining communications with candidates and internal client)
  • Strong candidate control
  • High degree of flexibility, self-motivation and drive
  • Ability to work in a high-functioning team environment
  • Experience working with global teams

Sales & Business Development

  • Ability to deliver to preset sales or business development targets that are in line with the overall business plan
  • Experience selling to executives, including C-suite in the Financial Services sector (Banking, Insurance, Private equity, Investment Management, Asset Management)
  • Understanding of, and ability to manage, the tactical subtleties in executing a sales plan with a customer/client
  • Experience of delivering new sales opportunities through a thorough understanding of the market place
  • Ability to develop relationships with clients that will optimise Brickendon’s position as the client’s number one provider of services
  • Experience of preparing and submitting successful pre-qualification documentation
  • Experience assisting in the preparation of tender documentation and preparing detailed sales proposals for new and existing customers
  • Knowledge of at least one complex functional or business area
  • A track record of success in supporting a major business contract, business unit or region and/or providing support to a professional function
  • Commercial management experience
  • Proven success in sales/business development
