The deadline for compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may now be behind us, but there is still no room for complacency.

While companies within the EU are well aware of the implications of non-compliance – fines of as much as €20 million or 4 per cent of global turnover – many organisations based outside the EU but using data relating to EU citizens have failed to acknowledge that it affects them too.
