Real estate costs are second only to wages for a business and can be a big burden. Brickendon built a workplace planning tool, which enabled a large investment bank to to effectively monitor desk allocation versus desk demand following a cost-saving move to a new building with fewer desks than people.

The organisation was targeting a desk-share ratio of up to 1:5, which prompted concerns that teams would find it difficult to allocate desks accordingly. In addition to optimising desk utilisation, the aim of the tool was to avoid the potential chaos and inefficiency that might have otherwise ensued. Read the case study to find our more.
